Professional Membership Grades


In considering an application for membership, the Council will evaluate the individual's recognised qualification(s) and/or employment experience.

 

There are six grades of earned membership, together with one grade of Honorary Fellowship. Honorary Fellowships are awarded by the Council for distinguished service to the Institution.

 

The following table is intended to provide a broad guide to the employment experience required to attain a level of membership.

 The nature, quality and quantity of an individual's formal study, specialised training and/or employment experience is the grading criteria applied by the Council.   As members progress in experience and skills, they may apply for a higher grade of membership than that which is currently held.  

The entry level for school leavers is Student level.

 

There are two undergraduate grades: 

Practitioner   AffICCP
Licentiate     LICCP

 

There is one graduate level:

Graduate  GradICCP

There are three grades of post graduate level: 

Associate AICCP Member   
MICCP(Grad) for Members qualifying through the ICCP examinations.Member MICCP for Members qualifying by exemption
Fellow FICCP

Basic Definition of Grade

 

Student StuICCP An ICCP student who (ordinarily) has no employment experience within the ICT profession. Students are not members of the Institution.

 

Practitioner Aff.ICCP One who is employed within ICT, but whose experience is in not yet sufficient for admission to Licentiate or
higher status within the Institution.

 

Licentiate LICCP One who is employed within ICT and who has 1 years' approved experience* within the industry and made some progress in the examinations

 

Graduate GradICCP One who is employed within ICT and who has 2 years' approved experience* within that industry and made sufficient progress in the examinations for admittance to the grade.

 

Associate AICCP One who is employed within ICT and who has 3 years' approved experience* within that industry and. made sufficient progress in the examinations for admittance to the grade or has obtained a Bachelor degree in IT from an approved establishment

 

Member MICCP The grade of membership is reserved for people who have attained the ICCP Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification(s) such as a Bachelor degree in an approved discipline and have at least 3 years experience in the industry.

 

Fellow FICCP  For people who have being an ICCP Member for at least 3 years or for senior industry figures holding an appropriate qualification such as an Master degree  in IT with 5 years post Master experience or be a senior figure in the industry and hold a Doctorate in an approved discipline.
